Weekly Update

Secret Garden Party have announced Maribou State will replace Primal Scream as one of their headliners. Primal Scream have had to pull out due to Bobby Gillespie's recent injury. Secret Garden Party takes place Thursday 21st July - Sunday 24th July. The other headliners are Air and Caribou and final additions announced are Molotov Jukebox, Clean Cut Kid, Sundara Karma, Secret Company, KLOE, Mt. Wolf, Nimmo, Blondage, Kioko, Stony Browder Jr, and Belle Roscoe. 

Nozstock - The Hidden Valley Festival have announced their third wave of acts.

They are led by Wille and The Bandits, Peter Bruntnell, Estrons, Jaz Delorian, Echo Town, Katey Brooks, White Feather Collective, and Smokin' Durrys. They join headliners Jurassic 5, Gentleman's Dub Club, and Foreign Beggars. The festival takes place Friday July 22nd - Sunday July 24th.

Sadly, Down To The Woods which was set to feature Primal Scream and Chase and Status has been cancelled because of the "present financial climate and current ticket sales". Down to the Woods was due to be held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August 2016 at Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield, in County Durham, with an adult weekend ticket costing £99. Down To The Woods weekend ticket holders may swap their ticket for a weekend ticket at Kendal Calling with camping included at no extra charge.

 

Yungen, ESPA, M.O, Emmi, Imani, Big Heath, and BB Diamond have joined the line-up for the sixth annual Sundown Festival which this year takes place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September 2016 at Norfolk Showground, in Costessey. They all appear on the Main Stage and join headliners Chase & Status, and Jason Derulo.

 

This summer's Bloodstock Open Air has announced that Heart Of A Coward, Beyond The Black, Beholder, Boss Keloid, Ghost Bath, Fury, Vodun, The Raven Age, Witchtripper, Garganjua, Conjurer, Vendetta, and Far From History are joining the line-up. The line-up over the weekend from Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th August at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire includes headliners Twisted Sister, Mastodon, and Slayer.

 

Finally, and locally, Betley Concerts have announced an extra date to their schedule  (subject to licensing). Thursday 11th August will see Bryan Adams headline their main stage. Tickets to see Bryan Adams at Betley Concerts go on sale at 9am Friday June 17 and are available from www.betleyconcerts.com

Owners of Betley Court Farm, Frank and Jayne Speed, said they are very excited that Bryan Adams is now heading to the farm.

Jayne said: “This is a huge name for us to be welcoming to Betley and we cannot wait to see Bryan Adams perform.”.

Multi-platinum recording artist Adams last year launched his thirteenth studio album Get Up and will entertain the crowds with a string of new hits together with such classics as Summer of 69, Heaven and Run To You.

Also headlining the festival will be Pop Idol Will Young on Friday August 12th and British soul and pop band Simply Red on Sunday August 14th. Saturday August 13 will see the stage taken over by a string of current pop acts from Total Access Live. 

2016 marks the fourth year for the successful festival at Betley Court Farm in the Cheshire village of Betley.

Betley Concerts is organised by music promoters Cuffe and Taylor who have worked with the Speed family to promote the event since its inception as Junction 16 in 2013.

Cuffe and Taylor director Peter Taylor said: “This is a fantastic announcement for Betley Concerts.

“We are working with Bryan Adams at a number of events this summer and when the opportunity arose for us to add him to the bill at Betley we jumped at it.

“Bryan Adams is a huge star across the world and we have no doubt this is going to be an amazing way to kick-off the weekend.”
