Yet again, Sheffield is responsible for firing out another artist that requires immediate attention. The latest sensation to come from the land of the indie band is Bayonet- a quirky, poppy four-piece, who have been dominating the Northern circuit over the past twelve months. After already spawning fans with their previous singles, Weekend, Everything, and Three Months, Bayonet are now prepared to reveal their next creation.
Heart Attack, is Bayonet’s fourth single to date, set to be unleashed on Friday 25th November with Scruff of the Neck Records.
This track is pure, white-sock, cherry-cola indie-pop. It starts with a simple drum roll, propelling into a high-pitched, airy riff. Vocals greet the listener in the verse, with puppy love lyrics based on simple rhymes that slot together like Tetris blocks.
The chorus has this swaying rhythm and lyrics that will soon be sprawled across their fans’ Instagram posts, So hold me back/I always complain you make my heart attack. Sweet and sticky, this swirls around in your head without a break.
The morphing of melodic-pop and quirky indie has bred this four-piece. Lovers of Peace will latch onto Bayonet immediately and it is understandable why they have attracted such a fan-base already, after their performances at festivals like Dot to Dot and Tramlines earlier this year. The band will be celebrating the success of their 2016 with a sold-out launch party at Sheffield’s Leadmill, on Friday 2nd December.
Easy-going, upbeat, and full of a deep lust for life, when armed with singles like Heart Attack, Bayonet are going to make quite an impact in 2017.
