REBEL today has the upmost privilege of premiering the brand new music video for Wedding Song, the first single to be released from The King's Pistol's second album 'Songs From The Ghost Road.'
The video, dark and sombre from start to finish, has the trademark work of local film director John Williams written all over it, while the song itself is packed with raw emotion few other bands can achieve as well as The King's Pistol can.
The opening lyrics 'You broke wedding vows' instills in you instantly a song of pain and endurance, tied in expertly with scenes of a forlorn boxer, while the trio of Julian Casewell, Andy Shardlow and Jim Farmer are on top form, offering up their 'blend of dark folk and Americana' better than ever before. The striking team ethic behind the band might be down to the history they share; after being in bands together over twenty years ago, they reunited to bring Julian's new sound to life, and they certainly did that with debut album 'Long Was The Road, Dark Was The Night'. Reviewing that debut album was one of the most enjoyable reviews I've had the pleasure to have done, but, if possible, it looks like they've gone even better for the second album.
The King's Pistol will be releasing their second album this month, and will be honourably sticking to their roots and morals as they did with their debut album, putting out the record on vinyl only through their own record label Duel Real Records. In the run up to the album release, The King's Pistol will also be performing live on the first ever Honey Box show, which has limited tickets left available or can be streamed live through the Honey Box website. Below is the exclusive release music video of Wedding Song, by The King's Pistol. I'm now going to listen to their debut album on repeat until the one is released later this month. That's how good they are.
